Scat Daddy unexpectedly passes at age 11

Scat Daddy, a young, successful stallion at Coolmore's Ashford Stud near

Versailles, Kentucky, died suddenly Monday morning at the age of 11.

In other news Monday, Santa Anita officially confirmed that

former Oaklawn announcer Frank Mirahmadi and current Golden Gate Fields race

caller Michael Wrona would alternate announcing duties at the upcoming Santa

Anita winter/spring meet.

The track also announced that those two, and others, would vie to become the

permanent replacement for Trevor Denman, who retired from the position earlier

this month.
