CJ Thoroughbreds’ Hang the Moon is getting the hang of pulling upsets in major turf races.

A four-month layoff didn’t stop 11-10 favorite Didia from posting a comfortable victory in Saturday’s Rodeo Drive (G2) racing 1 1/4 miles over the Santa Anita turf course.

Speed Boat Beach, champion Ce Ce, up-and-coming Midnight Memories, and dirt marathoner Heywoods Beach won stakes at Santa Anita Sunday.

Santa Anita’s opening weekend bonanza continues with four stakes on the Sunday program - the Speakeasy (a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In”), Zenyatta (G2), Chillingworth (G3), and Tokyo City Cup (G3).

Odds-on favorite Corniche stamped his Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) ticket in Friday’s American Pharoah S. (G1) at Santa Anita, and fellow unbeaten One Timer captured the Speakeasy S., a “Win and You’re In” for the Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2).

The opening day of Santa Anita's fall meet on Friday will feature three Breeders' Cup Challenge preps for two-year-olds, as well as a potentially key prep for the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1).
