The historic New Orleans Fair Grounds will stage a pair of stakes during its Thursday kickoff. Joining the traditional opening-day feature, the Thanksgiving Classic, is the inaugural Joseph R. Peluso Memorial.

While 6-5 favorite Art Collector never got involved in his comeback in Friday’s $107,025 Kelly’s Landing Overnight S., a rival from their old juvenile days – Tamaroak Partners’ homebred Bango – scored his second straight stakes victory at Churchill Downs.

Friday’s $110,000 Kelly’s Landing Overnight S. at Churchill Downs marks the return of Art Collector, once a leading contender for last year’s Kentucky Derby (G1).

Four dirt stakes for Thoroughbreds will be offered on Saturday’s Preakness undercard at Pimlico. Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen has contenders in three of them.
