Texas Red sidelined with cannon bone bruise
Erich Brehm Jr. revealed on Twitter Thursday that
Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) winner Texas Red (Afleet Alex) is out for the rest
of the year with a cannon bone bruise. The bay sophomore was last seen
running a subpar fifth in the Travers S. (G1) at Saratoga following a nice win
in the Jim Dandy S. (G2) on August 1.
Texas Red is expected to return to competition as a four-year-old.
