Six days after his initial return to the worktab, champion UNCLE MO

(Indian Charlie) turned in his second breeze over Saratoga Race Course's

main track, covering four furlongs in :50 2/5 shortly after 6 a.m. (EDT)

Thursday morning.

With exercise rider Patti Krotenko aboard, last year's

two-year-champion began galloping on the clubhouse turn, then picked it

up approaching the half-mile pole. After completing the breeze, Uncle Mo

galloped out five-eighths in 1:03 without encouragement.

"It's a steady progression," trainer Todd Pletcher said. "We stepped

it up to a half today, and I particularly like the way he galloped out.

His fitness level is more than I expected it to be. He was into it."

Uncle Mo has not raced since suffering his first loss when third in

the Wood Memorial (G1). He was later taken off the Triple Crown trail

with a liver disorder and spent several weeks convalescing at WinStar

Farm. Since returning to Pletcher's barn at the Spa, he posted his first

breeze on July 22, when he went three furlongs in :38 2/5.

Uncle Mo, who broke his maiden by 14 1/4 lengths at Saratoga on Travers Day

last year, could make his next start on Travers Day this year in the King's

Bishop (G1) on August 27.
